What do a philanthropist, a community activist, progressive Christian, agnostic Jew, and others with backgrounds in science, service, and the arts have in common?
They all meet on the Zoom Call (9/16/26) to talk about the status and future direction of Simply Go*d. And what a call it was!
The conversation was filled with imagination, candid comments, and free-flowing ideas.
We started with the basics: the Simply Go*d mission is to “Discover the Divine in Daily Life.” The work reaches toward three audiences: individuals, society, and culture.
Susan shared four strategies for expanding the reach and impact of Simply Go*d, along with examples of activities already underway:
The conversation that followed generated lots of possibilities. Among the ideas we kicked around:
- Creating a Book Launch Team for Simply God: Volume 2*
- Reaching more readers through bookstore talks and readings
- Exploring YouTube videos as another way to share the poems, art, and ideas
- Sending a media packet to podcast hosts and exploring podcast interviews
- And plenty more!
The goal isn’t to do everything at once. It’s to discover what’s possible—and what might be fun to pursue together.
In a follow-up debrief, participant Tom Brown, an artist and author, gave the meeting high praise. First, he said, “It was fun and educational.” Then he added enthusiastically, “Yes, I’d come to another meeting!”
That says a lot about the spirit of the gathering.
